Well that looked cool - I'm still not too big of a fan of that GoW-style perspective but I had the impression you can play it in first person mode as well so that should be just fine. Of course it would've been silly to expect an isometric POV again (even if you haven't read all the previews).

How does the combat work now though? Seeing how you're shooting somebody who is attacking at the same time I suppose turn-based combat is gone ;) And how well are the weapon skills going to work in this 3rd/1st person mode style of playing, if they're going to be in the game at all? Because.. while it may work in an isometric game, nothing pisses me off more in a first person game then missing my target even though my weapon is pointing right at it because of some arbitrary skill thing.

If you played Oblivion and liked it, you'll like this one then.

That's silly. There is really NOTHING in this trailer that makes it look like it has anything in common at all with Oblivion (well, apart from the perspective but we're obviously talking gameplay here).

I mean Jesus Christ - it's like as soon as Bethesda released Oblivion, people realized it wasn't that great and instantly forgot how fun the previous Elder Scrolls games were.

I, for one, still have faith in Bethesda.

I'm not saying it myself, the people who reviewed it said it was more oblivion. Which is fine to me, I like oblivion.

Well, at least they're not lying about the AI this time. Although I must admit, that video did look pretty neat...

You're kidding, right? I still see people calling it the best RPG ever (although, TBH, mostly on brain-damaging forums like Gamespot).

People posting on forums like Gamespot don't count as people. ;)

edit: Also, nice video. Wish we could get a vid that show an actual new character, though. I mean "so now I just got out of Vault 101" (ie "I just started playing the game") but he already has a shitload of strong weapons with very high skills.. They oughta show what kind of time a n00b character would be having.

Complaints.. hmmm - well the AI did seem pretty horrid, that worked fine with turn-based combat but in real-time this might make things ridiculously easy. Also that Sentry Bot was weird, it seemed to stop firing at the player when he was a large enough distance away from it even though he was still in plain sight. Odd odd odd. Also those Enclave troopers.. didn't really look much like the Enclave at all - The Enclave are big badass supertroopers with miniguns and all that fancy shit in huuuge armor. Not these wimpy skinny guys with just the strong weapons. That's really the only thing I wish they wouldn't have changed from the first games.. so far.

Did I see it wrong or you can play as a kid too?

I read that the "tutorial" sequence of the game has you growing up as a kid rapidly.. But once you leave the Vault and the game actually begins, you're adult.

Damn, I was hoping you could play a great deal of the game being a kid, but well...something is something.
