Ok, let's hear them - the first part of the episode is set in China; I'm already planning several melee upgrades and stuff as well as a new base section for these things.

I'm also thinking of some bigger gameplay changes about building up the AMC Squad 'army' similar to MGS:PW and a bit like Mass Effect 3's system (but muh better) I'm hoping the other guys will have more time soon to help with building again.

Version v1.10 is ready for download :) The full list of changes are listed on the download page, but I'll bring up the big ones here. You'll need to re-download the whole mod as the patch effects pretty much everything. Either download and unzip into your existing directory to keep your data files and configurations, or into a new directory if you're just starting.


-Revamped skill levels; the Expert and Professional skill levels give far greater challenge than Normal mode. Professional adds an even bigger challenge than Expert; the crosshair is disabled meaning guns with sights are far more vital to success, many weapons kick upwards meaning that you'll need to keep greater control of your weapon, and reloading takes longer meaning a careful approach is recommended. Don't forget that you can lean around corners to assess threats by standing, holding the use key, and pressing turn left/right.
-Beat all levels on Expert mode to unlock Gold standard weapons that can be purchased from the Shopkeeper. Although expensive, these weapons are effective against
all enemy types. Episode 1 has gold standard replacements for all character's slot 1 weapons.
-Beat all levels on Professional mode to unlock an extended ending for Episode 1. You only need to do this once, afterwards the ending will be unlocked and always show after the epilogue map.
-New weapons! 2 new guns can be found in Snow Base for Mikko, and several others are available for purchase from the Shopkeeper, as well as a new spell for Sang found in Dis Base.
-New enemies! The Zombie soldier and a suprising new addition to Dis base!
-New areas to Dis Base and Millhaven, and map improvements to many others as well
-Improved weapon bar showing akimbo gun modes and grenade launcher attachments, .etc .etc
-Lots and lots of bug fixes and improvements (see changelog)

This mammoth 8-character TC is finally ready for release, after several years of hard work. Featuring a huge range of features and effects (far too many to list here) The TC can be considered it's own game in it's right, taking story ideas from Duke Nukem as well as carrying on the storylines set in Imagination World (By myself), Oblivion (By Zaxtor) and Brave New World (By Mikko Sandt).

Featuring an episode of high-quality maps, built by myself, Rusty, Geoffrey, Highwire, Mikko and Sang. All the con coding, excluding a few parts by other coders such as DeeperThought, was by myself as well.

The AMC Squad is a paramilitary group formed by a man whose identity is unknown to all but a select few in the EDF and EAF. Using funds from both of those agencies as well as his own, he hired an old friend to track down 7 of the best and most skilled fighters on Earth. This squad was formed to tackle the most severe threats to Earth's safety, including fighting off the notorious Cycloid race of aliens. However, events soon unfold that dramatically increase the scale of conflict, and the AMC squad must soon deal with a new paranormal world that is new to even the most supernatural members of the team.

Can you fight as the AMC Squad, and take care of this threat? Will you scour the battlefield, find and aquire research and equipment and tackle the threat strategically, or just run in guns blazing? Will you choose to play as Sangluss, A warlock with great power who overcame a dark past? Or as Merlijn, the knight from Holland who wields ancient weaponry to deadly effect? Mikko, the Cybernetic leader of MS Corp industries, brings a range of deadly and hi-tech weaponry to the battlefield whereas Highwire relies only on good old fashioned guns (Preferably russian made!)

To those of you who played Imagination World and beat episode 4, if you copy the iw_complete.amctc file into the data directory in your AMC TC folder you'll unlock the 1911 and Jackhammer from IW for use when you play as James in the AMC TC :)

Please note that for the best experience, play this in Classic mode, Polymost does have support with widescreen functionality but Classic is what the vast majority of the team designed it in. Polymer is not supported.

I'm moving out relatively soon and discovered an old backup CD of IW from 2003, back when it was still on the DOS Eduke 2.0 (I made somewhat regular backups of IW, but since months often went by before I worked on it again I never really needed to make frequent backups)

I don't even REMEMBER some of these plans and ideas, especially the creature transformation one. But in anycase you can see how the plotline differs from the released IW.

But in anycase, behold!

Notes
-To clear this up: Go to Revalion's Crater, Go back in time to the apocalypse & destroy it before it fully awakens. Revalion exists in all times at once, so if it dies in one time, it dies in another. However, when it is not active it is indestructible, & when it is awakend it is invincible. So the only way to kill it is to travel to a time when it is inbetween these stages & fight it. Finally, go to the Earth's core in 2004 & kill Morphis so he can't affect any of your actions (IE: Put an unbreakable Barrier on Revalion's lair, Kill you .etc) BUT!.....Before he bites the big one a shot of pure energy is fired from his body from Earth into the depths of space. A derelict ship picks this beam up as a homing beacon, & heads towards Earth; trouble is it can't stop, therefore 6 months after IW v2.0 it crashes into Earth! This is where my other add-on Survival begins! But was it accidental, or did Morphis have this as a backup plan? Better yet, is James to blame? Had he not killed Morphis, would the ship not of crashed into Earth? Bah, this is a Plan file, so I won't answer that here ;)

EFFECTS, FEATURES ETC

SPRAYPAINT
When in the past, if you have a can of Spraypaint you can spray a message on a wall
& get points for it!

SPIRIT POINTS
Once you have the Spirit goggle Mod chip for the IR goggles, you can pick up spirit points. Get 100 of these,
& you can use James' Hidden power & Transform into a Xalonias (Invincible, Super fast, can fire energy beams & use close combat)

note from 2011 James: I honestly don't remember writing this idea, since it seems pretty far out there. It was probably my idea of a replacement for the steroid item.

KOOKY HELPER GUY
Occasionaly the kooky shopkeeper will be hiding around the levels, if you find him he'll give you either some Rockets or a Medpak, the player can press 'Insert' to cycle between them (A visual indicator appears over the Shopkeeper's head showing them their choice)

As the title says, at the minute AMC TC is undergoing internal beta testing and just requires polishing up before the first episode is released. After the internal beta's done, I have a few people in mind to test it before it's finally done.

I've made this topic however to attract any amateur voice actors in the community who wish to help us with some voices for the mod. There's several NPCs that need dialogue for cutscenes; everybody on the team already voices themselves and I'd like to avoid the 'same guy voices many different guys' effect in the mod, so I'm asking the members of the community to help.

Basically I'm looking for people who could voice the following roles; A scientist and a soldier for the introduction cutscene, a Russian soldier (who speaks in sterotypical Russian style like in the Call of Dutys) and a more realistic russian voice for the villain of a set of levels. I'm also looking for somebody to voice a British villain for Rusty's map, but that part is not finalised and may not materialise. If you're interested just say so in this thread or maybe even mail me a voiceover for something and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

I'd post shots now but since release is so close it seems a bit pointless now.

So, anybody looking forward to this? I never played the original CS but CS:S consumed a summer for me so I'm looking forward to it, though I hope they don't decide to charge full price for it. So far I'm hopeful since they're adding several new things that don't just seem there for no reason. The Molotov serving as an area of denial attack rather than just a reskin of a grenade is one example.

I thought the last part about skill was a good one. COD, Battlefield and .etc .etc are fun games but it's easy to die and not have any idea what happened. You can be a good player but if a player gets a killstreak and then wipes you out with a missile there's nothing you can do about it and you couldn't really avoid it. If you died in CS it was your own fault. Rushing into an area that the other side can reach first and snipe from or rushing round the corner without checking behind nearby crates, .etc .etc

A new video showing a small selection of the weapons in the game; each character has a full set unique to themselves as well as upgrades and new weapons they can buy to replace the standard set as well. As well as those there's also the temporary weapons which ALL characters can use and carry; all together the TC has over 100 weapons in it (my latest count is 122, excluding upgrades/alternate ammo types)

It's finally done! And weights in at 340mb - you'll need Polymost to play it; there is basic polymer support but I can't run it myself so consider it unsupported. I've worked on this mod for over a decade by myself (and some mapping support by Geoffrey, Highwire and a few others) It's considered the prequal to AMC TC as well and features a couple of characters. Once you've finished IW episode 4 it'll make a file called iw_complete.amctc - make sure to hold onto that for a reward in AMC TC when that's done as well.

It features 6 episodes - 3 are high paced action based and are revamps of the original IW levels, the 4th is a slower story based episode, the 5th is made of a few guest maps made for the TC and the 6th is Defense mode, where you have to kill enemies in arena for points. Beating the 3rd and 4th episodes unlocks further characters for Defense mode as well.

The day is finally here - it's not 100% finished and polished but it's still definitly a mustplay in my opinion. I need to upload this file first to Rusty's site and then transfer it to the moddb so they can add it to their databases (The file is 340mb so I won't link to the file on Rusty's site since it'll take all his bandwidth) Depending on how long this all takes it will most likely be tommorow, but there is a chance it will also make it out today in the late evening.

It's been a tough ride, and it took far longer than I wanted it to. However with AMC TC's development getting further along the need to release IW grew greatly since the two share the same game universe and certain characters. With IW released I can concentrate on AMC TC more and make it an even better experience.
