1  Duke Nukem / Duke Nukem Main / Sign For Blood ! on: November 12, 2004, 05:12:43 AM
Ugh, this blasted Blood source code again. Another day, another signed petition, it seems. Why don't they just release the damn thing and shut us all up? I want to play it at a decent resolution!

Edit : Just correcting my lousy spelling.  :P

Am I the only one who hated Duke: Carribbean?

-Rusty Nails

I thought it was pretty good, apart from those bloody seagulls. Who else actually bought any of those add-ons apart from me, who bought them all?

Ah, sod it. Ripping weapons from XIII is too tricky. How about if I just turn my akimbo Uzis on their sides, gangsta style?

Hah.  XIII was such a boring game.. it annoyed me that it didn't autosave at checkpoints like every other game in existence.

Yeah, it's a little tedious. But the weapons are kinda cool. Hey - on a related subject, anyone know how to turn the pipebomb into a proper grenade? You know, rather then having to trigger the bombs, they go off after a couple of seconds.  Any ideas on how to do that, if if it's even possible?

EDIT : On reflection, XIII does have checkpoints. Just not that many. Bit irritating if you ask me, but it IS a console game at heart. Bloody keys all over the place... bah!

Shame. That really was a great loss, wasn't it?

And I'm sure you'll be glad to know that once I've finished with the new enemies, I'll be ripping most of the weapons from XIII. That'll keep you happy, I trust?  :cool2:

Okay, fair enough. :) Can you give any actual examples?

...and I never claimed the enemy was original, just that it was custom. (Although it does imply it. I'll give you that one.) It fits the tone of my mod so much better then a lizard-thing. Most of the other enemies are going to be from the Beta as well, that was just the first one I encountered.

The Uzis are a f**king placeholder, alright?

And the shotgun is from Doom, but you'd never really tell. I took a frame from the reloading animation, rotated it, removed the glove & placed the thumb there, which you can REALLY tell. Doesn't look too bad, does it?

And does anyone recognise the custom enemy? Bonus points if you do.

EDIT : Regarding the last post - I HATE when people rip from HL/CS. They never get the reloading animation right! You see it half the time, they might as well put some effort into it. And how many times have you actually seen those Uzis in an actual mod? Do tell.

Oh, thanks for the support guys.

EDIT : Sorry kinslayermds, didn't see your reply. You can ignore the sarcasm.

It's only temporary anyway, I was just figuring out how to do it. My main concern at the moment is touching up this bad boy :

Actually, what I was talking about was when I loaded the weapons in Duke3D, they had a purple box around them. Thanks all for your help, I've got it sorted out now.

Care to see the end results?

No, my mouse is working fine...

What I've got is my lovely new weapon, already imported (See attached screenshot). My problem is that I can't see any cursor over it - I can see a cursor over the palette in the bottom left EDIT : Right, even. Oops..., but the only way I can seem to do anything is if I hold the mouse button down & then press an arrow key. This places a bunch of dots on the image (as you can see), but it's very irritating. This can't be how it's done?

Thanks for the quick replies.

Okay, I get that I'm using ArtEdit or whatever it's called.
So I've got the frames I want to change (2536-2540, if you're interested), and I've pressed U & grabbed the image.
I get that I have to press Backspace & C & all that, but how exactly do I do that?
I can't see a cursor over my image, only over in the bottom left - is that normal?

Sorry for being such a newbie...

Hey all.

I know it's been brought up before, but try as I might, I'm unable to rid of that irritating purple from my new weapons. Shame really, it's pretty cool otherwise. Could anyone possibly give me a hand?
