You people need to play more games! What a one-man show this is.

Are you on a vacation from school?

I've played the AVP multiplayer demo on and off the past week. I've finished Mass Effect 2 two weeks ago. Currently playing Dante's Inferno. Find myself booting up Darksiders every now and then. Completed Borderlands for the second time (splitscreen co-op) some week ago.

NOLF series must easily be some of my fav games from the early 2000's :D

They are indeed some of the best games out there. It's one of my favs. Everything PC related in my life is about NOLF. My passes etc.

Completed it last night, the main campaign is criminally short

Relatively speaking (compared to OFP1)? The XFire clock shows quite a considerable length, especially when compared to most shooters, tactical or not.

Yeah - well, it ended today but it won't be getting overly busy too

Never bothered to check how long I spent with OPF's campaign but it certainly felt longer (more varied missions etc, OPF2 is pretty much infantry combat from beginning to end)

edit:

Well, uninstalled NOLF. Got somewhere in the Dumas Enterprise building (shortly after the fight with Inge Wagner).. it's because the game either works or doesn't work at random. You just need to keep starting it up until it works (usually, it'll just crash instantly) and maybe change some compatibility mode and if you're lucky it'll work. It's not consistent at all. Even if it works, sometimes there's the problem that your controls all become unbinded again and you can't change it, because as soon as you leave the menu, they become unbinded again.

It's too bad, it's a great game but issues with compatibility completely kill it.

So, my friends decided to pop in at 10.00 pm on Wednesday, despite the fact that they had to travel a hundred miles to get here. It really was just a pop-in as they left the next morning. We watched an Olympic hockey game (Finland vs. Belarus) and I got GeForce 8600GT. (I lent some money to my friend a year ago and it took him almost a year to pay it back so he gave me his graphics card as compensation for making me wait.)

But anyways, the best thing is that I was finally able to purchase Modern Warfare 2 and play it. (It's still 60€ on Steam and 50€ elsewhere but I managed to find it, or its Steam activation key, on Ebay for only 25€.) It's such an amazing game. All the challenges, rewards and ranks really get you hooked in no time and the best part is that all the annoyances that plagued CoD4 are gone.

Polymer still runs like shit though.

Yes it does, on my new video card as well.  And people wonder why I'm not eager to code Polymer effects.

The first contra game on NES is easy as hell, I've beaten it without loosing a single life. All you have to do is to get S and later R weapon. Try Super Contra or Contra 7 and then you will see what it means a difficult game.

Good for you? All these years of playing easy PC games where you can instantly restore your progress probably hasn't helped my gaming skills. :P

BTW: Played on a real NES yesterday :D My GF apparently still has one, but there are only 5-6 games and the machine itself is pretty busted up (lots of blowing and smacking just to get a game working properly). Played some Super Mario Bros, Duckhunt, Double Dragon II, Zelda II and Paperboy.

Very fun and it's a lot different seeing the action on a TV screen compared to those flash remakes at 320x200 resolution ;) Though I suppose most of you knew that already (before this I've only played an NES once)

Finished FFX, this being the second playthrough, the first one was in 2005. Still a pretty good game, just that I've grown pretty tired of random encounters after FFXII, which didn't have any. I must've used the "flee" option in at least 1/3 of battles.

Then I've been playing MW2. The biggest problem with the game is that while the lack of dedicated servers ensures that there are no empty servers and you always find plenty of people to play with, there's no way to get rid of noobs.

Completed Call of Duty: World at War

Most of it is pretty standard CoD fare but some of the Russian levels are very nicely designed and the last level (storming the Reichstag) looked very impressive. Didn't care too much for the Japanese campaign, there's only one moment that stood out to me in there which was throwing mortar shells at enemies - fun as hell! Oh and also using the flamethrower.
