I've read so many good things about it it'd be stupid not to get it. If my exams are good I'll probably get it + Far Cry (I guess both games are rather 'cheap' so it should cost near 50) Can't wait :)

edit; btw, does anyone know when we might get a retail version? I don't feel like downloading the thing...

It arrived. Installing now. But I've got to leave for an exam in 3 hours, so I guess I can only play partly through.

I might get it when I have the money. I read that the requirements say 2 GB of RAM? I don't really see where it needs 2 GB as I've run more demanding looking games with just the 1 GB and the 6800 Ultra.

I don't know where you read that as I could run it fine with just 256mb of ram.

I'd rather take my time with it to be honest. Anyway - I played through a bit of it and going to play the rest now, then I'll post my full opinion.

Some edgets were posting about it on 3DR. Good news to hear.

I think those 3DR guys are saying it takes 2 GB of RAM to run it with all the bells and whistles on. Maybe not. I don't even have 1 GB of RAM hehe :)

Just played through the entire game in one run.
Honestly, I wasn't bored one second with it (like I was with HL2, as it just kept dragging things out far too long) and I'll even go as far as saying it's better than HL2.

Playing Episode 2 will be incredible. I can't wait for it. :)

Played and past Episode 1 in left than 4 hours on the hardest, it's very fun but doesn't last as long as the Original did (Half-Life 2 that is)

Urh, yeah, therefore they're called "episodes" ;)

Anyhoo seems like I haven't given my thoughts of it yet -

It's really fun. There's something about it - I think it's the pacing - that makes sure you'll be playing it until you get tired or hungry. There's a good balance between action/puzzles which stops you from getting bored - depending on your tastes of course ;) Anyhoo it's really fun.

I play through it last week en finish it in 6 hours..I was really disapointed because first i baught it on ebay (the buyer told that the steam account deliver with it wasn't used) but sadly he registered the game with his first steam account when the key is used with a steam account it cannot be used with another account (i suppose so...) hopefully he lown me is account... and so for this official addon you have to pay for, except one monster (fast combine-zombie) there was nothing new in it (couldn't even get for a short time alix pistol..what a shame) and i really got the feeling to play azure sheep for HL2... I will compare it without esitation with blueshift (long waited but quite disapointing)..

I won't rush into episode two without good advice. In comparaison ROE for DOOM3 (and even if didn' t like the last chapter called Hell it features a lot of new things and was in my opinion more challenging than Doom3

It's the story man - and Half-Life 2. Well worth the money.
