Yeah I actually just finished mixing their SFX, there's different ones depending on what type of Geth you face. For example the red Destroyer ones etc!

Also, thanks for the advice on the md2 > md3 issue, I forgot to post a reply at Duke4.net! I guess you can see it worked. :)

Sorry for the whoring, but I'll just quote my post on the previous page incase it's missed. It's a pain to post something at the bottom of every page. :P

Don't really know where this is headed, but it's something to keep me occupied when I want to do something not overly convoluted Duke wise.

The Geth I use is an edited model used for Survival, and the map's story ties into the events between Mass Effect 1 & 2 on an Alliance base orbiting around Earth.

It's a tad buggy, but this is literally two day's work you're looking at.

@Commander: Would you have figured it out without a decoder? :D

Here are some pics from recently designed places in my very first map. They're nothing extraordinary and aren't the final designs but they're close. The green area is where the aliens are farming eggs from women underwater, and the red area is directly above it, which is supposed to be some kind of egg incubator.

I've posted a WIP version of this map in a new thread: http://www.amcwebforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=8261.0

Forget the polymer lights for some minutes and work on the architecture in these places. Both are flat and dull and have the same texture spreaded all over the walls and roof. Play with different heights, make pillars, put lightsources, crates, broken parts, ventilation shafts, pipes dripping or whatever that would dress up that nude place.

And welcome

Yeah, Polymer lighting should not be a substitute for design.

I know I'm at least going to put columns in which can be blown up with explosives. Though I find my personal mapping style is to design a place maybe 70-80% then move onto the next area, and come back and add tonnes of detail later.

This mexican guy Mike Norvak just put a video on Dukespaņa showing his upcoming map Sunstroke.

According to what he said the map wonīt require Dukeplus and will be done quite soon.

What can be seen behind the terrible lag is awesome, donīt lose it guys:

Looks good.  I wonder how it would look without the HRP, though (especially those view screens).
