This ships with HL2 Episode Two right? Looks like a load of fun too, can't wait.

That's pretty pathetic :/

edit: well ok, the puzzles they made look interesting. But I hated every mod that ripped off hl's gravity gun after hl2 got released. So what's the difference here?

The first 2 puzzles aren't impressive, but the rest look great though :) Your gravity is carried through the Portal, so you can jump through one in the floor and come flying out through another in a wall. In any case, I'll definitly be giving this a shot once it's released.

I agree with Geoffrey, this is just a rip-off of Prey.

I think it's a more interesting concept for using portals than a ripoff. Prey just used them like alternate doors really, but these can be placed where the player wishes them to which is far more... interesting actually..

There was a game that had Portals like Preys that was released before it. This is made by the same team (it wasn't a commercial game, it was freely downloadable) I'll see if I can find a link.

EDIT:

Portal is Valve's professionally-developed semi-sequel to 'the freeware Narbacular Drop, the 2005 independent game released by students of the DigiPen Institute of Technology. Some or all of the original Drop team are now employed at Valve. Certain elements, like the orange/blue system of identifying portals, seem to have been retained.

It says "released in 2005" - Prey's portal technology was first announced in 1997 ;)

I know, I was talking about being released before Prey was.

I don't see your point. A fun little freeware game can't sell effects, a massive doom3 engine-based fps can. Surely you're not saying that they're basing their hl mod on Narbacular Drop ^_^

Downloading now though, it looks fun :)

EDIT: hold on, I didnt notice that the authors of Portal are behind the Narbathing as well. In that case its a totally different story - never mind :)

Weird timing :) Kinda smart as well, now that the whole portal-hype is zooming.
