Ultra3D is still totally alive and being worked on you know. It's my main hobby. I spend tons of time working on it, just like I always have for the past seven years, I just don't spend any time talking (or posting) about it anymore. I just thought you guys may want to know! I may be biased, but I think Hellshock (Ultra3D) may end up being the greatest duke mod ever released. Well, maybe not, but I know you'll all like it when it comes out. I'm still working on the last level (It's half done). After that, I just want to re-do the enemy and weapon art (probably) and fix the hundreds of bugs present in the CONs. Oh yeah, and write the short storyline for those who care.

People can reply to this thread if you wish, I'm not expecting anyone to. I'll be back in a while to post a reply or two if anyone decides to post. Thanks for reading, and feel free to email me for whatever reason. Bye for now.

I hope the screenshots on your website are very outdated and do NOT correspond to the mod as it is now.

About Geoffrey's map said as 'cancelled' in the screenshots page, do you still have it somewhere ?

It's bullis, and this TC actually looks decent, so it's ok.

It always struck me as a slightly more dynamic IW (and iw already was pretty dynamic slash chaotic). But yeah, even after all these years it promises to be fun :)

Wow, good response! Anyway, to answer a few of the questions:

-Yes, seven years! Is that a record? It's probably the longest running TC to ever be worked on for Duke, that was never cancelled and then revived.

-I still have Geoffrey's map, but it's just little pieces that he made. He never finished his part, but the little one-room bits he sent me do look good. They'll be included in the final release somewhere in the zip file, but not anything playable.

-Those shots on the site are way way way too old to give a good impression of the TC now. I've gone back and revised the old maps numerous times with more detail, better artwork, more routes to take, more puzzles, etc. I still want to do some more revisions on the first 3 maps though. They need some more work. However, that doesn't take too long to do.

-Nope. No new content for ya. I wish I could do that for you, but I'm very busy. I've written these last two forum posts from work, and I could get in trouble for that. I should be coding. Also, I'm a full time student now that I go to university. Besides all that, I really enjoy spending time with girlfriend, so I can't be on my computer all the time at home. When I do get a chance to work on HellShock (usually 1 to 3 times a week), I simply build. I love building, and I always forget to take screenshots. I don't like doing that anyway because everything is a work in progress.

-The comparison to IW is interesting. I would have never thought of that. I really don't think it's anything like IW at all, at least not anymore. By the way, if James is reading this: IW was great fun to play. I think I already told you that years ago though.

Anyway, I've got to get back to work. But I'm really flattered by the response. I didn't think anyone cared. I'm dying to give back to the community that's given so much entertainment to me. I'll make sure you guys aren't dissapointed.

You did, one of about 3 e-mails I got regarding it :) I can see where Geoffrey is coming from in the IW comparison, but I think it's safe to say that now neither will have much in comparison to each other heh :D

What's the tech stance? Are you using generic 1.5 CON limits or have you expanded to EDuke territory? Are you going to be utilizing hightile/model capabilities?
