$5 says that's not how he was using the term, though.

You can bet more. the "CGI" term is used for prerendered scenes, not in-game scenes recored with fraps, period.

So it's not CGI at all, okie dokie? ;)

CGI means Computer Generated Image or something doesn't it? At any rate a 3D rendered computer game engine definitely falls under the "Computer Generated" category.

No it's not nitpicky. It's true. If you don't think that a 3D game is CGI there's something wrong with you.

Either way I agree with you. The CGI term is mostly used for prerendered computer graphics.

Quote from: wikipedia
Computer-generated imagery (commonly abbreviated as CGI) is the application of the field of computer graphics (or more specifically, 3D computer graphics) to special effects in films, television programs, commercials, simulators and simulation generally, and printed media. Video games usually use real-time computer graphics (rarely referred to as CGI), but may also include pre-rendered "cut scenes" and intro movies that would be typical CGI applications. These are referred to as FMV.
Only the cutscenes and effects in a game generally are referred to as CGI, apparently. Technically you're right, but realtime generated graphics just not usually called CGI.

Of course I know what you meant and yes - the term CGI is mostly used like that and is commonly associated with movies. But I felt the need to be nitpicky indeed ;)

Isn't that just a decay trailer? In any case it looks pretty swell (even though you're looking at the same room for twelve minutes :)).

Oh right, I forgot about that. The single room and that giant pipe did have a silent hill vibe to them, but the enemies and enviroment did remind me of some earlier decay shots hellbound posted.

It's not decay.

I think it's pretty obvious that it's a silent hill: The room TC.

It even has the hole in the wall, looking through the door, etc. It's a silent hill mod alright.
