I never got to complete it but from what I've played it's great. I loved the fact you could play it again & again in different ways; this added so much playability it's a shame no other game has used this technique. Let's hope Deux Ex: the invisible war is as good as the first one eh? ;)

Deus Ex is one of the few bright spots in the FPS genre. I agree with James that the game really benefited from being open-ended in the way you played J.C.

I also liked the RPG and character creation elements as well... ala System Shock 2.

I also love the way u can make different choices. That's really cool.
And I'm going to make sure that I get DX2:Invisable War when it's released.

Time to revive this topic! Just recently completed Deus Ex, & am already on my 2nd way through ;)

I really loved the game as a whole; the story is fantastic & it has almost infinite replayibility. I went through the game as quite a gun-ho kind of person, although on my 2nd time round I did go for an all-round selection of weapons + augs. For the 1st time round I just went through the game - didn't really take much time to investigate. on my 2nd play I did spend a lot more time looking around + experimenting with different choices (ie: shot Maggie chow in her apartment, Saved Jock .etc). However the fact that your actions determine what happens to other charecters is a great aspect; first time round I never saved Jock but I did the 2nd :D

I think that the ending is fantastic; the fact that you can choose what to do (In a sense; each ending is pretty hard to get) adds more replayibilit. I chose the Illuminati ending first, then the Dark age ending second. When I play it through next I'll get the Helios ending.

The sequal most probably won't run on my PC but it does look promising; especially the storyline behind it. If I ever get a new PC or something I'll have to give it a try.

I'm on my 3rd round now  :D

My first game was (and now this third game is) based on using sniper rifle (with silencer of course!  :D) and any non-leathal weapons  :)

This game is still very high on my favourites list: 2nd right after GTA: VC  :)

On my 2nd go I had this one pistol that I modded up with everything I could get - in the end it was the equivilent of a badass sniper rifle with an 11 round clip, scope & a laser site  Shame you couldn't use the silencer on it though, I guess the Stealth pistol is for that heh heh ;)

Heh, reminds me of my sniper rifle!  Everytime I acquired a new weapon mod, I first tried to put it on my rifle  :)  That rifle was the only lethal weapon I carried  :D   Well, maybe some LAMs, too  :P

I love little details like that :D I broke into one of the offices at UNATCO & decided to play some basketball - I lobbed it at one of the troops & he said 'You are joking right?' heh heh. Also I managed to shoot a basketball into the hoop at the court in NYC! Yay I rule
