Mapster32 Special Key combinations
« on: May 28, 2007, 01:04:25 AM »
It would be nice if we put the nice features that mapster32 has by using special key combinations so everyone comes here from time to time if they need to do some accurate editing in a map.

So let's get started :

By pressing END + PG up or Down it will raise or lower in smaller increments, either ceiling, floor, sprites, etc.
HOME + PgUp or PgDown will do it in even smaller increments.
Control + pageup/down moves it in big increments.
' + x  turns the shading of sprites to the way they're seen in-game.
' + s = Set shading
' + p = Set palette
' + t = Set lotag
' + h = Set hitag
F2 = disable clipboard
Left Shift + ` = Really small increments sloping
Left Ctrl  + `  = Big increments Sloping
On the tile selection, press "T" to select distinctive types of tiles, such as actors, effects, explosives, etc.
Holding left SHIFT + the scaling texture keys moves the textures by small incriments instead of scaling them.
' + F brings up special functions for scaling selected sectors, global shade divide, etc.

And control+pageup/down moves it in big pieces. There are tons and tons of combinations so yeah, a list would be nice.

To contribute with something I use alot: '+x (correct me if I'm wrong) turns the shading of sprites to the way they're seen in-game.

' + s = Set shading
' + p = Set palette
' + t = Set lotag
' + h = Set hitag
F2 = disable clipboard (I find it annoying)

Of course this only applies in 3D mode (and mapster32)

Yes Geoffrey, ´ + X shows the shading as it would in game BUT it doesn't show how it would look like with the "spritenoshade" command from eduke32. In order to know how it would look like you have to set ´+X off.

(Thanks sang for the home + pg one, really useful)

"T" in 3D mode in Mapster32 on ceilings or floors adjusts there trasnparcny (Used for special effects)
"3" in 3D mode in Mapster32 allows you to see through sectors when used with the correct settings and effects.

The spam forum is closed and it's not in here.
Also this is "Key combinations" not just one key, like you posted twice.

Woah, thanks man, didn't know about the slope increments - that'll prove useful.

It's essential when you're working on scenery :)
