It is, and some people dislike it. Personally I'll wait for actual photo-realistic games to get released (in 10 to 20 years) before saying I like or dislike it.

Well that's kind of contradictory, you first say that people dislike Photo-realistic games, then you imply that no such game exists yet.

I guess I should have said over-exaggerated vibrant colours. But I do think photo-realstic games right now are ugly, drab, and very boring. It's not my taste, anyway.

I'd like to know which games you think are photorealistic tho...I can only think of Crysis. UT3 and gears of war don't count because their color set is not realistic.

Mirror's edge has a more realistic engine than most games since it's all simple rather than being either extreamly dark or detailed. For all we know Hl3 could have bump mapped textures like the unreal 3 engine which would add a tonne more realism to the game.

Yes. Streets are completely clean and walls do not have smudges or falling parts...

I think Crysis takes the cake for me on this one, Even though I cant play it at full spec, (most of the graphic options ive set on low and medium) I still love how it looks and the deck of the aircraft carrier with that rain look lovely. Also some of the physic's are good to,
When I first played it I thought I could hide behind a palm tree to hide from the boat shooting at me but then the gun fire from the boat cut the tree down which landed on me and killed me, doh.

Then the physics can be crap cos I was walking up some stairs with some soldiers I had killed on them and the dead bodys some how made me die.

I dunno what to think here, is the bridge actually having people on it for scale? or is that just a piece of something? The railing on the tip of the borealis tells me that the scale for people is much bigger unless it was a mistake made by the concept artist.

Yes, it certainly seems that he put the wrong railing on the borealis tip.
