Problems with Original GTA
« on: September 05, 2008, 01:07:00 PM »
After Rockstar released the original GTA I for free I installed ist, but got some problems.
The game is running too fast. I canīt even handle the actor, the cars are too fast and so on.
Is there a way around this problem?

I think I remember GTA coming with a DOS and a Windows exe. Perhaps you could try running that DOS exe with DOSBox.

There isnt a DOS launcher with the free version.
What you want to cheack is that the Frame Limiter is turned on, F8 in game, If its still to fast change the screen resolution with F11 to something like, 1024X768 32 Bit.

If that still fails then you might want to look for one of those programs that people use to slow their computers right down for emulators ect.

My trouble I had with this GTA version is that it plays to SLOW if im using my soundblaster card and so I have to use my onboard card when playing.

I tried the frame limiter and in that case is is too slow.

It should be played with the frame limiter on, if it is to slow with it on then it is something else. If your not using a onboard sound card and something differnt then try using your onboard sound card. This fixed my problem. The video card you are using should make no differance as far as im aware FYI.
