Lezing's DN3D Resource discussion
« on: January 14, 2010, 09:53:53 PM »
http://lzg.duke4.net
This site is a homepage of all Duke projects of mine. Recently it was updated with several pages about the released stuff.

The thing you might not know of is a special edit of my previous map pack - the CROSSROADS Series. It's old and crappy but still quite interesting.

Here you may post any comments or suggestions about the site's content.

The site is still under construction, I plan to make this and other pages later. At the moment, there are only 10 pages exist of 20 planned. I'll keep you informed about next ensuing updates.

Did you fix them problems people mentioned on D4N about virus etc,
I didn't get any when viewing the pages, so possible them just getting false positives.

Apparently, the virus was removed and everything is pretty safe now. Each page has only a script for gathering statistics.

people mentioned on D4N about virus etc,
Edit: thereat were malicious scripts on the index pages of both lzg.duke4.net and lezsite.narod.ru... since I scanned my PC and then changed the sites' passwords, it seems no shit appears anymore.

The site was updated with "In development" section. I'm a bit slow with those web-pages, so the "Other stuff" section is still pending.

Now I've uploaded the rest of the site, as well as a couple of new pages.

The unfinished stuff is pretty interesting! You've had some really cool mod/map ideas, it's too bad they remain unfinished but I'm glad you wrote something about them (and added a screenshot or two) - the skytown screenshot looks pretty surreal. Also, was athe lebuild key guide available before and did I just look over it? Because that's pretty damn handy to have online :)

The key guide was first published on Jan 14, much earlier than the rest of "extra stuff".

I consider uploading the unfinished SkyTown snapshot. There's no consistent gameplay and the map crashes sometimes, but it's pretty fun to ride electric motorcycles there. =)

I played this TC a long time ago. The motorcycle was great.

Amazing! The bike handles really well, and I love the sounds you've chosen for it - really sci-fi :) Jumping around with it is great, too. You've got some pretty neat effects in that snapshot, the sunflare is great (it might be a bug but I think it's cool how it shows on the map, too), not to mention the voxel items and such.

This made me anticipate your mod alot more :)

Thx guys.. Although this TC is the history, at least I've gained some EDuke32 coding skill and learned to work with voxels developing it, but I don't like the look of the voxel objects made of converted hi-poly models; despite high resolution they tend to have little detail and look like clay crap. Maybe it's better to draw voxel stuff in a pixel-art manner.

One more funny bug: if you hold a look key while the bike is turning in the same direction, you can see the aft part of motorcycle, but it looks the same as the front fork. Also, Duke doesn't have to grab the handlebars to steer. xD
