And the demo playback works!

Does it work like the original game now, or do you still need tot have the same directory structure?

The snapshot includes a custom .dmo file, so I presume so.

I'm not sure if I understand what Sang is asking here.
But the demo file plays a sequence from the E1L1.map that I presume TerminX have recorded.

( I'm running the latest EDuke32 snapshot and the latest extra HRP release.)

I'm not sure if I understand what Sang is asking here.

In earlier version of Jonof/Eduke32, where demo playback DID work, it required you to have the same directory structure as the guy who made the demo. For example, if I would have my Duke3D dir on D:\Duke3D, and you would have it on C:\Duke3D - Upon trying to play the demo it wouldn't work. You'd get an error that was something like "Couldn't find D:\Duke3D\*.map"

So is that still the case or not? Just because you don't get an error doesn't mean it might not be the case ;)

I think that has been solved.
I got my Duke dir on E:\Duke\.....

As soon as I installed the latest EDuke32 snapshot and launched as follows:

(Batch file): eduke32.exe /gduke3d_hrp.zip /gduke3d_xtr.zip

The demo starts to play.

Holy fuck :) New snapshot on 3dr!

http://wiki.eduke32.com/stuff/eduke3...t_20070215.zip

http://wiki.eduke32.com/Detail_mapping
http://wiki.eduke32.com/Glow_mapping

Now I wonder what you would get if you would cut out the light section of some lamp texture, give it really faded edges, and use it as a glowmap in a fog-heavy map (like my survival swamp gas map) .. oh yeah :)

And don't forget that this release also allows for a free roaming camera independent of the player's position.  Although that something that would excite coders more than artists.

It was coincidental, actually.
