Plz don't pick on Eddy too much, he still seems to have a hard time at understanding English... apparently he couldn't figure out whether the tiles024.art was absent in A.dream pack he released or DukePlus he mentioned in his post as well.

Since all A.dream ARTs are incorporated into a GRP file, the only reason of missing textures is that there's a conflicting ART file somewhere, either in Duke3D directory or autoload folder. The problem can be related to the tiles024.art from DukePlus.

What drove me nuts is that heīs not offering any kind of help. Not even paying attention to whatīs being said. Itīs obvious even for a retarded what Fernito meant with "The pack". There was no need to mock him (once more) and delay the solution one more day. Fernito is not online all the time and he seems to be interested on playing this thing. With every "uh?-like" post the developer replies a question. The problem gets delayed one day, at the least.

And iīm pretty sure nobody involved in this discussion speaks english  as a native language, so that isnīt an excuse.

Everybody in the community should know by now that if you have a tiles0xx.art file lying around loose in the game directory, it will override an art file of the same number that is in  a .grp.  The same applies to CON files, sounds, etc.  This is a basic Duke mod fact, guys.  Anyone who has ever played a user map that has custom anything should know this and be careful about it when playing a new mod or map.

So while Eddy's replies may not have been very helpful, there's really no excuse for making a mistake like that and then not be able to figure it out on your own.

EDIT:  And by the way, if the tiles024.art from DukePlus is overriding, then you have DukePlus installed wrong or you are trying to play Eddy's mod using DukePlus or something wrong like that.  The art included with DukePlus should all remain in the dukeplus folder.

Well, first off, I didn't mean to cause any trouble. I'm sorry Eddie if I offended you, but you have to realize that I never meant to.

Being that said, here is a screenshot of my ADream folder:

And there's no tilesxxx.art file in any of the subfolders.

But, as the screenshot I just posted shows, that's not the problem in this case.

Yep Mike, that was the problem. I didn't even know I was using a so outdated version. Besides, I never thought that that could be the problem. Thanks! (y)

As for the map, I really enjoyed it! Specially after the "no way out" part. Pretty scary stuff :P Good job Eddie, as always!  (y)

You should save this link and always check back to it every few weeks etc, a new eduke32 version comes out regularly.

http://dukeworld.duke4.net/eduke32/synthesis/

As you can see, the link Mike gave is already outdated by revision 1814. (as of this posting)

Or just stick to the latest official release so as to avoid running into problems.

OK, thanks guys!

BTW, why does an outdated version of EDuke32 not display just some of the custom textures?

Sorry about my earlier rant.  I didn't even consider that someone would use an exe that old.  Also I get a little defensive when something about DukePlus is brought up as an explanation for why something unrelated is not working (which of course wasn't true).

I think I know why the old EDuke32 caused the problem.  I'm guessing that Eddy has a gap in his .art files.  Like maybe he has tiles019, tiles020, but he is missing 21 and 22, then it picks up again at 23 or something like that.

In the old days the art would stop loading when it hit a gap like that.  I remember this because TX changed that at my request since it was giving me grief.

So really this is both Eddy's and Fernito's fault (I just love assigning blame to things ).  Eddy should know that you always always always include an eduke32.exe with your mod that is known to work smoothly with it.  And of course Fernito should have been using a recent version.
